Assessment as Learning
Taking charge of their learning is a desirable attribute or disposition we seek to nurture in our students. ‘Assessment as learning’ has a crucial role to play in this regard because it enables students to develop strong reflective and metacognitive skills. These in turn lead to greater self-awareness along with capabilities of self-management, ownership of the learning process, and taking responsibility for their own learning. In this Learning Space you will focus on developing greater understandings of the elements of ‘assessment as learning’, and practice applying the principles in the development of ‘assessment as learning’ strategies. One hour of one-to-one coaching focused entirely on work generated by this learning space is included.
