Assessment Under the Lens
From day-to-day learning to specific points along the way, assessment plays a key role in the journey for each learner. This means assessing learning both in an ongoing way and by 'stepping back' at regular intervals to take stock of learners' progress and achievements. How successfully and effectively we assess depends for a large part on how well we understand the principles and purposes of assessment. This in turn impacts on decisions we make in our assessment planning which in turn has, as research fully shows, a significant impact on students’ learning. This Learning Space explores and unpacks the connectedness between those elements and the subsequent implications this holds for planning.
