Being Innovative and Entrepreneurial
In many ways, terms and concepts like ‘innovation’ and ‘being entrepreneurial’ sound like they belong in the big wide world of business and technology. Not so. Futures thinking identifies these 21st Century skills as being critical for all young people, our students, to take into the world they will inhabit – a world where problem finding will not be a problem, but solutionising could be unless they are equipped with the means to approach problems with confidence. And let’s face it, from environment to finance and work, resources to human rights and social justice, there will be more than enough for them to deal with. So, being innovative and entrepreneurial: how do we be it, do it, teach it, learn it? This professional development module throws out a challenge, takes you through the Design Thinking Process, and employs game-based techniques to gamify your learning. Really! It’s Be-novative as you Do-novate and Learn-ovate! (This module can be played as a team game.)
