Connecting, Learning, Life and Global Issues
There is an American Indian saying: we do not inherit the earth from our fathers, we borrow it from our children. This has profound implications for the way we view and interact with our planet. The sustainability of the planet and the parallel issues of social justice are confronting challenges for us and for future generations. Inspiring our students to fall in love with their world, to be agents of change, to be caring and responsive advocates and problem solvers means that not only do we focus on their acquiring of knowledge, but that we also enable them to develop a “feeling for” dimension. This Learning Space is devoted to ways we can incorporate the exploration of global issues into curriculum, and how we connect them with learning and life.
