Is the future something that happens to us, and those around us? Or can we actively design, rethink and reshape the present seamlessly as we morph into the future? The future is coming true before our very eyes. At considerable pace! While there is a certain level of comfort in the ways and things we know, there is a matching level of high anticipation for what the future holds. Enabling students with the life skills and mindsets required to tackle the challenges ahead, and providing learning environments that can support this, is one of our imperatives. What will living life entail? Does more technology mean fewer jobs? Is it possible to continue to accumulate knowledge? What does this mean for how we “do” school? More children will leave school in the next 30 years than have left school in history! That’s an astonishing thought. And a galvanising one. This professional development module throws out a challenge, takes you through the Design Thinking Process, and employs game-based techniques to gamify your learning. (Note: It can be played as a team game).
