Learning from within
Research in the neurosciences, education and psychology reveals strong positive links between emotion and the learning process. Indeed, emotion is an integral part of every mental act. The way we approach events, people, tasks, the natural world,… involves perspectives we bring to them, each in our own individual ways. And we have choices about the perspective we will adopt and what we will take along with us into any given situation at any given time. At the core of our perspectives are thoughts and feelings. Understanding more about our thoughts, feelings and emotions helps to bring them into our awareness so that they consciously influence out attitudes and actions into those with positive rather than negative outcomes. We cannot necessarily change circumstances in our lives but we can exercise control over how we respond.
